Cecilia Gelin is an art historian and gestalt psychotherapist. Among other things she has been practicing Dean for the Art Academy at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (Kunst- og designhøgskolen), Norway; Director, artistic and administrative leader, for NIFCA, the Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art in Helsinki, expert agency for visual culture focusing on mediation, critique, and mobility, for the Nordic Council of Ministers; Chief Editor for Paletten. She has developed courses in Art History, Cultural Theory, and teaching methods for aspiring artists at the Valand Academy at the University of Gothenburg. Gelin has also worked as a critic for Swedish Radio (Sveriges Radio) and the Gothenburg newspaper Göteborgs Tidningen (GT), moderating debates, leading processes and workshops, initiating seminars, acting as catalogue editor and investigator. Gelin is born in Gothenburg.
